Health & Safety Works!
If you attended our successful training series What Clients
Want!, you'll know that Salon Strategies is dedicated to
providing the highest quality interactive training for you
and your employees, to help you offer the best service to
your clients. As part of our Business Professional initiative,
Salon Strategies and its partners, Lambeth College, the
London Chinese Business Network and the LSC London Central
were recently supported by the Health and Safety Executive
to develop our training and support programme for ethnic
hair and beauty businesses.

Salon owners enjoying the What Clients Want! Workshop.
With the help of the Workers' Safety Adviser Challenge
Fund we aim to work in partnership with workers and employers
in over 100 BME owned nail bars, hair & beauty salons
and barbershops, to secure improvements in health and safety
in the ethnic hair and beauty sector.
Our Worker Safety Adviser can:
- Review your existing health and safety arrangements
by completing a risk assessment of your workplace. This
will show you the areas that need your attention.
- Involve your staff in helping you to develop a practical
and comprehensive Health & Safety strategy for your
business to ensure that everyone is part of the solution.
- Draw up an action plan with you to implement changes
and improvements at your own pace.
- Offer free advice on how to handle any problems you
have concerning health and safety.
- Help you to develop a health and safety audit for your
business. This will show you how much progress you are
making and where further improvements can be made.
If you need confidential support and advice on how to make
sure your workplace is safe for you, your staff and your
clients, contact our Worker Safety Adviser to arrange an
appointment by calling Salon Strategies on 020 7377 9922.
